Script for "Civil War Women"

This play is copywrighted. No royalties are charged if the performers are not paid. For paid performers the royalty fee is $10 for each performance. There is a tape with music and background talking on it which goes with the play. It can be purchased for $10 as well. The tape is not essential to the performance although it does enhance it. However, it is not the best quality. You can make your own tape or have live musicians and speakers using the information found in the script.

"Civil War Women" has six characters. There are five women and one narator. Ideally, Linda Brent and Harriet Tubman should be performed by African American women. Since Dr. Esther Hill Hawks has a very small part, this actor could also be the narator. "Civil War Women" lasts 55 minutes and is appropriate for audiences from fifth grade to senior citizens.
